Timezone Map is a static, no-account website. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what data is involved when you use it.
What this site stores in your browser
When you pin a city, set a home location or switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time, that information (city names, coordinates, time zone IDs and your preferences) is saved using your browser's local storage, on your own device. It is never sent to us and we have no server or database that could collect it. Clearing your browser data, or using the "Clear all" button on the site, removes it completely.
Cookies
Timezone Map does not set tracking or advertising cookies. The only storage it uses is the local storage described above, which exists purely to make the tool useful across visits.
Third-party services
The map, place search and map tiles are provided by Mapbox. When you search for a city, your query is sent to Mapbox's geocoding service so it can return matching places, and loading the map involves requests to Mapbox's tile servers. These requests are subject to Mapbox's own privacy policy, which governs any data handling on their end. This site does not use any analytics or advertising services.
Children's privacy
This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the site's functionality changes, for example if analytics are added in the future. Check this page periodically for updates.
